Your brand shows up in AI answers. Now what?
A mention is a starting point, not a result. Here's how to work out which problem you actually have.

This website is run by Stefan. This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit the site or get in touch, why that is needed, and what your rights are. The site has no advertising, no tracking pixels and no analytics.
Stefan is the controller for the processing described here. You can reach me through the contact form.
Contact form. When you send a message I receive your name, email address and message, and your company and phone number if you fill them in. I use this only to reply to you and follow up on your request. The legal basis is taking steps at your request and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Technical details with a message. To protect against spam and to give context, every message also includes your IP address, an approximate location (city, region and country), your browser type and the time. The location is looked up by sending your IP address to the geolocation service ipwho.is. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
Email delivery. Messages are delivered to me by email through the email delivery provider SMTP2GO. They are not stored in a database on this website. I keep them only as long as needed to handle your request and the follow up.
Server and security data. The web server and Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site, process technical data such as your IP address, the page you request, the time and your browser. This is needed to show the site and keep it secure. The site also keeps short lived counters per IP address to stop automated abuse, for example on the contact form and article views.
Blog. Article pages count how often they are viewed. This counter holds no personal data.
You choose which optional cookies are used in the cookie window. You can change that choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer.
YouTube. Videos in articles are not loaded until you press play, and only if you have allowed embedded media. Playing a video connects your browser to YouTube (Google), which can set cookies and receive your IP address. I use the privacy enhanced YouTube domain. Without your permission the video is not loaded and you can open it on YouTube instead.
Links and sharing. The share buttons and links to other sites, such as LinkedIn, are plain links. They send no data until you click them, and the other site then applies its own privacy policy.
Fonts. The fonts are served from this website, so no data is sent to a font provider.
Hosting. The website runs on a server in Germany, within the European Union.
Messages and the details that come with them are kept only as long as needed for your request. Counters for abuse protection are deleted automatically after a short time. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
You can ask me for access to your personal data, and for correction, deletion or restriction of it. You can object to processing based on my legitimate interest, ask for your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time (for cookies via "Cookie settings"). Send your request through the contact form. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
The site is only served over HTTPS and I limit what is collected to what is needed. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your data.
I may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
